where is the people with Herpes?

There are over 30,000,000 members on POF. Many of them have herpes. I know this because I've seen faces from the Herpes Dating Sites on plenty of fish ...... but do you think that they mention herpes in their profiles? Not hardly.

There's more than 600,000 people onPositiveSingles.com and a large part of them have herpes because it's an STD dating website. Maybe one of the biggest problems with the Herpes having such a stigmatized reputation is those people without herpes are always talking negatively about something that they never know about. Some of the people who make hateful remarks will end up contracting the virus regardless of what they say since 1 in 4 Americans will get an STD in their lifetime. Also, between 75 percent and 90 percent – don’t know they are infected herpes because they don’t get, or don’t notice, herpes sores.

Many people that have herpes are in fear that if they disclose their secret nobody will accept them. The most common symptom of Herpes is "the itch" so how in the world are all these people catching Herpes? If you do NOT have Herpes I'm not really interested in your comments about how it's getting spread. I've had several long-term relationships with great negative girls who thought I was worth the risk because they knew that I would do everything I can do to keep them from infecting it.

I was with a woman for many years and she never got it because I was diligently mindful of being careful. I'm glad I treated her that way because we obviously got divorced. She was capable of going on with her life and not having to worry being infected. Most of the stories I hear regarding new people acquiring Herpes has more to do with selfish people who do not have the self discipline to abstain from sex when they might be contagious.

I've had Herpes for more than 20 years and though I may not know everything I certainly know more than your average duck about Herpes. They didn't have Valtrex and other "suppressive" medications when I got Herpes.

I would prefer to dating a woman that has herpes so that we can be more spontaneous about sex ........ but all the other attraction chemistry has to be there otherwise. So if the US has an average infection rate of 20% being infected, where are you guys?

What Is Herpes Simplex Virus?

In order to understand whether the herpes virus is contagious, let’s first of all define what herpes simplex virus is. There are generally two forms of the herpes simplex virus. These are:
-          Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV 1).
-          Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV 2).
The herpes simplex virus belongs to the same group of virus that is responsible for triggering chicken pox.

HSV 1 triggers minute, clear blisters which are also commonly referred to as oral herpes, cold sores or fever blisters on the skin. Cold sores are quite common on the mouth or lips. Then again, cold sores can occur in any part of the face such as nose. Recent studies have discovered that cold sores can appear as a group or individual spots. Whenever the sores pop up, they are commonly referred to as herpes outbreak.

Wrestlers in high schools and colleges have been known for developing herpes blisters around their shoulders and the spinal area. The outbreaks are normally triggered by coming into contact with an infected person or through virus-contaminated rugs. Other athletes who have been known to pass the HSV 1 to others are rugby players. Tiny herpes simplex virus type 1 referred to as herpetic window, have been found to pop up on the fingers, particularly in children who have the habit of biting their finger nails. This type of herpes is usually passed from the mouth to the hands.

What is Herpes?

There are two types of herpes viruses - Type 1 (HSV-1) and Type 2 (HSV-2). A herpes virus infection is more common than you think - 85% of the world has been infected with at least one type. In the past HSV-1 infections occured in the mouth and HSV-2 infections occured in the genital area, but now either type of virus can infect either site. HSV infections can also occur throughout the body, often on the finger. This gallery shows pictures of various rashes caused by the herpes virus. *Please note - there are pictures of genital lesions in this gallery. I have tried to crop these and present them in a clinical manner, but for some people, they may be offensive.
